the challenge

Artek is a bootstrapped, founder-led business that provides off-grid electrical solutions for B2B clients—from RV and van upfitters to industrial installations. They’re one of a handful of premier Victron distributors in the U.S., with deep technical know-how and a clear roadmap for growth.

When they first came to First&Third, their original site was functioning – but didn’t reflect their brand or meet their growing operational needs.

They needed a strategic digital partner who could evolve with them: delivering quick wins at first, but building toward a scalable, polished experience over time. To help their relatively small team create a manageable path to optimize efficiency, we worked with them to prioritize their needs into four focus areas:

We approached Artek’s site in phases, evolving the platform as the business matured.

Behind the scenes, everything was built with Shopify Plus functionality in mind, enabling B2B-specific features like customer-specific catalogs and payment terms.

Phase 1

We delivered a fully functional Shopify Plus MVP across two stores that spoke to unique audiences – one for B2B and one for Direct-to-Consumer – to streamline operations, reduce manual order handling, and introduce wishlist and bundle functionality tailored to how Artek sells to clients.

Phase 2

We consolidated their B2B and DTC storefronts into one simplified site—focusing their attention where it mattered most.

Phase 3

We created custom bundle + wishlist functionality that would meet their highly specific B2B needs. Without an out-of-the-box solution that could work for them, we collaborated to understand exactly what would help scale the business and we built it from scratch.

Phase 4

We delivered a full redesign with a flexible, component-based system that empowers their team to build and update pages in-house. The new site brought clarity to their service offerings, elevated their brand presence, and mirrored the professionalism of their team.
